Find an accountability buddy | Day 17
I’m really proud of you, number one, because by reading these messages every day, you’re showing me that your level of commitment is what it needs to be to succeed in your program.
You know, not everybody has that discipline initially, and it’s really hard. And you know what? If you’re opening this and it’s actually Day 40 for you, that’s okay. The fact that you are continuing to push yourself further means that you are going to ultimately succeed. It’s really hard to change those habits.
Today’s tip is going to be about your workout. Now, one of the things I’ve noticed is when I’m working out with other people, I push myself harder. One of the best things you can do is to find a workout buddy. So if you have a friend that you can invite to do your workouts with, then that’s going to really help you to, number one, do them, but also the big thing about having someone do it with you is that you’re going to push yourself harder.
I noticed that when I have my success partner with me, or if one of my kids are working out with me, I don’t know, there’s just something about working out with someone watching that you’re going to push yourself that extra mile.
So here’s the thing. If you don’t have that, I want you to act as if you did. Think about it. How would you act if someone was sitting there watching you do your workout and working out just as hard? You kind of have a little spirit of competition going.
Every workout, bring that spirit. Bring the energy that you would have if you were working out in a room full of people because you’re going to push yourself harder and you’re going to not give up so soon.
Okay, I still get exhausted from doing Insanity. I really do. There are times I just have to stop and take a break. But I notice that they’re fewer and far in between when I work out with people.
Find a workout buddy. And even when you’re alone, act as if you were working out with friends.
Thanks, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
